Mission
Internet brings many wider social benefits, where being informed is not a privilege of elected as it used to be. But every uncontrolled liberalism leads to it's own opposite - monopolies. Information ecology should be considered more than ever. The pollution which information era has brought to Internet becomes more and more intractable. What we all need is safe, fair competitive and transparent Internet. We are devoted to help make it this kind.
Vision
Our vision is to create a strong bridge between real and virtual identity and make Internet safer, fair competitive and transparent for all of us.
History
Development of the product began in June 2005, when Aleš Lipičnik registered the first -on.net domains (sp-on.net, doo-on.net, ltd-on.net, gmbh-on.net, and srl-on.net). The original idea was to sell second level domains for companies which would be similar to companies´ names in real world and would require some kind of verification. Later, after doing a lot of brainstorming with Anka, all domains for companies and business entities around the world were added to the collection, the concept and purpose was also upgraded. Company On Net verified domains became an anchor for companies presented on Internet.
Further development went toward identification process and Marko Vene joined the team in order to create a software solution. Rok Lipičnik took care of the design of the first pages and verified pages. Lack of financial resources was the main reason for such slow development at that time.
Aleš and Anka were alone with the product again, thinking about which step to take. The second phase started in September 2007 when Peter, Matej, Dejan and Nejc joined the team. Development in this stage started in February 2008 when new functions were added and old components were re-developed. Not only did the core system change, the front-end of the product went also through a complete redesign. Many new ideas are being considered constantly to make the product even better and more useful as it already is. Enhancing the security of the product makes our team more enthusiastic and creative. New vertical products are prepared for development to add more functions to the verified pages.
