Rafting in Bohinj
We are aware that happy workers are more productive and achieve better results and that's why we organized a team-building day.
It was well deserved by everybody, students on summer internship have really shown a lot of enthusiasm and loyalty, often working late in the night, when the deadlines were approaching.
On Sunday, 10th August the weather conditions were perfect - sunny and hot with cloudless sky, so everybody was looking forward to refreshment in the cold river water. Our destination was Bohinj, a well-known Slovenian tourist resort, located in a valley in the north-west mountain region. After arrival we slitted into pairs, each pair took their boat and we were ready to go! The 22-kilometer long journey down the Sava river began.
Needless to say twice we had a lot of fun during the five hours that followed. Crazy events like pirouettes on whitewaters, rafts stuck in the shallow water and involuntary falls into the water due to tree branches that sometimes got in the way, really made our day. The Oscar for the best artistic impression of the day went to Matic, our web designer. At one point of the trip a thick branch literally catapulted him out of the raft in a spectacular way and suddenly he was in the water, not really knowing what has happened. Cool! :)
After the river adventure some of the people went home, while others continued with a picnic late in the evening. The sunny weather continued on the next day, so in the morning there was no rush back to Ljubljana, quite the opposite. People rented bikes instead and went on a mountain-biking tour around the lake. It didn't matter that it was already Monday. One extra day off didn't really affect the work that much, but on the other hand we really recharged our batteries, which was after all the main purpose of this trip. At the end of the day it doesn't really matter on which day of the week exactly the work is done, as long as it is finished before the deadline.
