Summer internship for perspective students
Everybody knows that there is lack of good and reliable developers in IT and that's why companies start looking for them early, when these future experts are only students, sometimes even earlier.
Both sides benefit from this. Students have an opportunity to upgrade their theoretical knowledge from the faculty with practical work, while companies get to know the candidates much better than they would through a formal selection process for a job.
Companies should not limit themselves only to local regions and should at least sometimes look abroad. While this indeed has some pitfalls and disadvantages, we believe that due to the similar language, culture and common history, students from former Yugoslavian republic are an interesting choice for us.
In August we are organizing a summer internship together with our partner NiteoWeb. Three foreign students are invited. Vedran (from Rijeka, Croatia), Nemanja and Vilmos (both from Novi Sad, Serbia) will be staying with us until the end of the month. During the internship they will gain valuable experience and learn new tricks from more experienced developers. With the help of the mentors they will upgrade their knowledge of Plone, a powerful open source content management system. They will also learn the concepts of automatic application testing (unit tests, integration tests) and will use them with developing Python WSGI applications on actual projects (Company On Net™ Core system).
To make the whole practice even more enjoyable and memorable, we will organize many free time activities - rafting, mountain biking, bowling, paintball to name a few of them. We am sure they are looking forward to it as much as we are.
